Graphic Systems Group is a family business founded by Mr. Aziz Dewji and Mr. Safir Hajee (1954 – 2016) in 1985. The pair entered the world of printing and packaging after travelling to Germany for a printing and packaging fair. Impressed by what they discovered, they set up an industrial printing plant in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) with the first multi-coloured Heidelberg printing machine in the country. The objective of the company was to be a supply-chain partner to multinationals for their printing and packaging needs.

The company quickly grew as a result of increasing market demands and their ability to cater to a wide range of clientele. In 1997 they expanded themselves into Kampala, Uganda with a new factory comprising of state of the art machinery. The philosophy at Graphic Systems Uganda was the same, to supply from the largest multinationals to the smallest local firms with superior customer service and production expertise.

Graphic Systems Angola (GSA) entered the printing sector in 2005 in Luanda. GSA has attained growth and experience that brings its unit to the forefront of its market. The factory has strategically placed itself in the market to specifically cater to the labelling, flexible packaging and carton packaging needs of well-established local and multinational businesses.

In 2007, Graphic Systems Rwanda opened its doors as a corporate office of the group to supply printed material to the domestic market. In addition, a second corporate office was opened in 2014 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania to target and supply the domestic breweries with labels.

After 35 years of being market leaders in their domestic markets, the vision forward for the Graphic Systems group is highly promising with the second generation joining the family business. The group has outlined their plan forward and has begun executing their expansion program into the East and West African markets catering to current and new multinational supply-chain partners.
